Jason has been dancing for 21 years and teaching dance for 16. He began dancing with country in the nineties. He concentrated on Country dances (two step and others) until he found West Coast Swing, on which he has concentrated ever since.

Jason competes at the Champion level. He has had some phenomenal results, including second in the Champions Jack & Jill at the 2014 Swing Fling in Washington DC and first in the 2010 Champions Jack & Jill at Boogie by the Bay, one of the most competitive USA events. In winning at Boogie, he finished ahead of Robert Royston, Kyle Redd (many times national champion), Ben Morris (2013 national champion), Arjay Centeno (2007 national champion), Jordan Frisbee (many times national champion), and John Lindo (2001 national champion), among others.

Jason teaches mainly West Coast Swing, but also Salsa, Ballroom, and Lindy. He is a tall guy and has an amazing dancing style. He uses his height (his leg length) to create cool lines and movements in his dance. Jason leads his students into mind opening experiences by teaching his own version of lead, follow, and movement. Many have said that Jason’s teaching has led them to a completely new understanding of movement and dance. Jason also loves teaching kids and has taught dance programs as part of physical education curriculums for schools in the San Francisco Bay area, including Napa Valley.
